Enter to Win State Award

The Home Builders Association announces a Call for Entries for the sixth annual Pinnacle Awards for outstanding craftsmanship in the construction of quality homes. Judging will be based on quality craftsmanship, creative solutions to unexpected problems, good professional relationships with the owners, and other similar factors. Landscaping and design do not play a role in the competition.

In addition to being featured in Palmetto Homes magazine, framed photographs of the winning homes will be displayed in the conference room at the HBA of South Carolina's office. Not only will members see the best of South Carolina, but visiting legislators, the Governor, and other public officials will see the displays.

Homes entered must:

  • have been built in South Carolina by HBA of SC members in good standing
  • have been completed after Oct. 1, 2005
  • be available for a walkthrough by judges during the entire month of November

Other entry requirements include:

  • floor plan and exterior elevation renderings
  • magazine-quality color photographs in electronic format
  • written description by the builders
  • listing of all subcontractors and suppliers and their membership status
  • $500 entry fee

Homes that have received awards other than a Pinnacle Award are not only eligible, but encouraged.

Categories are arranged by home sale price, which includes the lot. They are:

  • $199,999 and less
  • $200,000 to $499,999
  • $500,000 to $749,999
  • $750,000 to $999,999
  • $1 million to $1,499,999
  • $1.5 million to $1,999,999
  • $2 million to $4,999,999
  • $5 million or more

To request an entry form or for more information, contact Brandie Freeman at 803-771-7408 or bfreeman@hbaofsc.com. Entry deadline is Friday, October 12, 2007.
