The HBA of S.C. Hits the Golf Course

The HBA of South Carolina pulled together a golf team for the HBA of the Lowcountry's golf tournament June 29th at the Lady's Island Country Club. Mark Nix, Julian Barton, Kevin Shelton, and Brandie Freeman made the trip down to Beaufort, and managed to play 18 holes without injury.

"We didn't come in first, but that's okay," said Mark Nix, HBA of SC executive director. "We had a great time playing and getting to know our members down in the Lowcountry."

Players had a chance to win a new boat and a golf cart with a hole in one on two holes and other prizes. Some members scored some nice prizes from the raffle ticket drawing, from golf balls and hybrid drivers to air filtration systems and antique Civil War memorabilia.

"The Lowcountry HBA knows how to put on a golf tournament and how to have fun," said Nix. "They pulled out all the stops for their members."

At the end of the day, scores really didn't matter to Team HBA of SC. The weather was stifling hot, but the team enjoyed the comradery of the HBA of the Lowcountry.
