Master Builder Education Requirement Change Announced

The Master Builder Committee recently changed the education requirement for renewing Master Builders. Effective immediately, renewing Master Builders no longer need to split the 10-hour education requirement into the business management and technical fields. The new education requirement is as follows:

To maintain the S.C. Master Builder designation, the candidate must complete a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education annually. Courses can fall in the business management field, the technical field, or a combination of both. Discretion is up to the renewing Master Builder, as long as the minimum 10 hours is met with Master Builder accredited courses.

The education requirement for new applicants remains the same at 20 hours of initial education with 12 hours in the business management field and 8 hours in the technical field. For more information on the Master Builders of South Carolina, visit www.HBAofSC.com/master_builders/.
