 Greenville HBA Names New Executive Officer
Michael Dey has been named Executive Officer of the Home Builders Association of Greenville. Michael comes to the HBA of Greenville from Columbia where he was president of Michael Dey Public Relations, a government affairs consulting firm.
Governor Sanford Signs Business-positive Workers' Compensation Executive Order
Governor Mark Sanford signed an Executive Order requiring the Workers’ Compensation Commission to use widely accepted and objective American Medical Association (AMA) guidelines or other objective standards in determining levels of disability based on specific injuries.
Members Help Raise Money for SCBPAC
Members of the Home Builders Association of South Carolina answered our call to help raise money for the SC Builders PAC during the annual Silent Auction at this year’s convention. Donated items ranged from gift baskets, free advertising and tools to framed artwork, vacation getaways, and gas logs. One member even donated a doggy pool!
Membership Recruitment and Retention Efforts Paying Off
The numbers are in for September’s membership recruitment and retention rates, and they’re looking great! Statewide from August to September, membership increased by 40 members and retention increased from 75.8 percent to 76.2 percent.
Southern Staircase Donates Grand Staircase to HBASC Renovation Project
As plans were being made for the HBA of South Carolina’s office renovation project and donations were being solicited, the Board of Directors searched for a reputable staircase builder who could supply a quality staircase to serve as the centerpiece for the office. When Southern Staircase came through with their donation, everyone knew they could rest assured the staircase would be a spectacle.
