Legislative Conference, Oyster Roast Attendance Good Despite Rain

Sometimes rain can put a damper on a good time, but members of the Home Builders of South Carolina know how to have a good time regardless of the weather. Members showed up in force at the annual Legislative Conference and Oyster Roast Wednesday in Columbia to help set the agenda for the upcoming legislative year.

After the Conference and the Board of Director's meeting adjourned, most of the attendees made their way to the HBA of South Carolina's office for a tour of the newly renovated office, not to mention an oyster roast and BBQ feast. Frank Clark (Clark's Services, Inc.) provided the oysters and Butch Tisdale served the BBQ pork.

Even though Mother Nature threw a curve ball with the rain, it was certainly welcomed considering the current drought status in our State. But, HBA of SC staff was prepared. Staff borrowed tents from various members, including the HBA of Greater Columbia, Piedmont Natural Gas, and Robert Redman (Gutterheads of Spartanburg). The HBA of Greater Columbia also pitched in by lending other items to the HBA of SC.

Because of our members who attended and those offered their support, the oyster roast could not have been deemed a success. Hopefully next year, Mother Nature will be a little more cooperative and provide better weather.
