Green Building Resources Available!

Green building is a hot topic these days, and NAHB is creating resources and events designed to help HBAs with their green building programs:

  • At the State and Local Government Affairs Conference held last month in Austin, Texas, NAHB staff unveiled Green Building Legislative Responses: Finding the Right Shade of Green for Your Community, a handbook to help HBA lobbyists craft legislative language that promotes voluntary green building programs and avoid mandates. Contact Alex Strong at 800-368-5242, ext. 8279 if you didn't get a copy of this useful resource.
  • HBA staff attending the conference also got the opportunity to preview the newly updated and expanded Green Building Public Relations Toolkit, a collection of press releases, talking points, column service articles, op-eds and more. All the toolkit materials are available at www.nahb.org/greentoolkit.
  • Green building slide presentations, sample ads and other resources are also available by contacting Calli Schmidt at 800-368-5242, ext. 8132.
  • The NAHB National Green Building Program will be introduced on Green Day, Thursday, Feb. 14, at the International Builders' Show.
  • Finally, if you haven't signed up for the Green Building Program Update newsletter, send an email to greenbuilding@nahb.com to get on the mailing list.
