New Education Criteria Added to CMB Program
Are you an NAHB instructor and a Certified Master Builder? Would you like to get CMB credit for the courses you teach? If you answered ‘yes’ to all of these questions, you’re in luck! The Master Builder Committee recently agreed to approve continuing education credit for NAHB instructors who are also CMBs.
Effective August 17, 2007, NAHB instructors who are also CMBs can receive teaching credit for NAHB courses once every 12 months. The number of credit hours equals the number of classroom hours.
The Committee also agreed to give students credit for taking repetitive courses, as long as the course is taken once every 12 months, unless otherwise approved by the Board.
Upon reviewing the NAHB’s Green Building for Building Professionals course, the Committee decided to change the course weight for the CMB Program. Effective August 17, 2007, any student who takes the NAHB’s Green Building for Building Professionals course and who wants to apply the credit towards their CMB designation will receive 10 credit hours in the technical field and 6 credit hours in the business management field.
Students who took the NAHB’s green building course during the 2007 state convention will received 8 credit hours in the technical field and 8 credit hours in the business management field as advertised prior to the Committee meeting on August 17, 2007.
