Addison Homes Receives Accreditation as Green Home Verifier
Addison Homes, LLC has received accreditation from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) to conduct home inspections under the National Green Building Standard now offered by the NAHB Research Center.
As an accredited NAHB verifier, Addison Homes will work with builders to certify that homes meet the requirements of the NAHB Research Center’s National Green Building Standard, according to Addison Homes President Todd Usher. The Green Building Standard dictates that green homes incorporate environmental considerations and resource efficiency into every step of the building and development process to minimize environmental impact. The design, construction, and operation of a home must focus on energy and water efficiency, resource efficient building design and materials, indoor environmental quality, and must take the home's overall impact on the environment into account.
A regional leader in green building, Addison Homes, LLC was named 2007 EarthCraft House Regional Builder of the Year. Usher is a certified LEED For Homes Representative - one of about 20 individuals in the Southeast designated to help builders and homeowners certify homes to the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) For Homes residential green building standards developed and administered by the U.S. Green Building Council. He also is a certified ENERGY STAR rater, an EarthCraft House technical advisor, and an approved instructor for the National Association of Home Builders. |
