Thirty-four Students Receive Scholarships From Greater Columbia HBA Charitable Foundation
Over the past eight years, the Charitable Foundation of the Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia has awarded $170,000 in scholarships. Scholarships are awarded to children of HBA members who meet criteria set for the program. This month, the HBA Charitable Foundation awarded $31,000 to 34 students.
The scholarship program is funded by annual events, including the HBA Golf Classic, through private contributions to the Charitable Foundation, and through the annual Tour of Homes Scholarship House. For the past five years, HBA Builder Members have volunteered their time, effort and money in order to build the Scholarship House. This house is a special promotion of the HBA, the HBA Charitable Foundation and Columbia Metropolitan magazine, designed to promote the Tour of Homes and to provide funds for the scholarship program.
This year the Scholarship House was built by Great Southern Homes. The HBA and its Charitable Foundation wish to thank Great Southern Homes and Michael Nieri for participating in this project three years in a row.
