Mungo Homes Receives State and National Recognitions

Mungo Homes has done it again. The South Carolina home building company continues to be recognized on state and national levels for their hard work and dedication to their community and to the home building industry. Congratulations to Mungo Homes for their accomplishments!

National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina
Mungo Homes was recently recognized as Corporate Partner of the Year for 2007-2008 by the National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina. This prestigious award recognizes Mungo Homes for its outstanding dedication to the NKFSC. “The National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina plays an integral role in the health and well-being of South Carolinians,” stated Steven Mungo, principal of the Mungo Companies. “We are honored to be affiliated with this highly respected organization and look forward to continuing to assist them in fighting this disease.”

Over the past decade, Mungo Homes has served as the lead sponsor of the Foundation’s annual Midlands Golf Tournament, contributing more than $100,000 to its cause. In addition to the company’s financial support to The National Kidney Foundation of South Carolina, many Mungo Companies employees have donated their time and talents to the Foundation’s annual events.

Professional Builder Magazine and Builder Magazine
Mungo Homes is proud to announce the company’s recent recognition as one of the nation’s largest and most successful building companies. Professional Builder Magazine and Builder Magazine, both just released their annual rankings of the nation’s top residential building companies and Mungo Homes made a significant jump in both publications annual rankings.

Builder Magazine ranked Mungo Homes 70th nationally in total unit volume. That ranking is up from 104th from the previous year. Professional Builder Magazine ranked Mungo Homes as the nation’s 144th largest builder based on overall dollar volume. That is up from 214th the previous year.

“These are tremendous accomplishments and we are grateful for everyone’s contributions,” stated Steven Mungo, president of the Mungo Companies. “This recognition is a testament to our team’s hard work over the past year.”

Both Professional Builder Magazine and Builder Magazine are national business magazines for residential homebuilders. Each magazine annually ranks the top 400 builders across the country.

Home Builders Award Show
Mungo Homes is proud to announce its recent recognition at the 2008 Charleston-Trident Home Builders PRISM Awards. Mungo Construction, received two awards: one for "Best Affordable Housing for a Single-family Detached Home" and another for "Best Affordable Housing for a Single-family Attached Home." Both models, located in Spring Creek at Horizon Village, were built jointly with Harbor Homes, a sister company of Mungo Construction.

The annual CTHBA PRISM Awards recognize excellence by builders, remodelers, developers and real estate professionals in a number of different categories. Winners are chosen by judges outside the Charleston area. This year was the first year the awards show featured a "Best Affordable Housing" category.

"Not only is it an honor for our work to be acknowledged by those in our industry, but in today's market, we are excited to be recognized as offering a well-built product at an affordable price."
