HBASC Receives OSHA Grant

The Home Builders Association of South Carolina has received a more than $170,000 grant from OSHA through the Susan Harwood Training Grant Program to conduct residential construction safety training sessions. While the grant was awarded to the HBASC, the SC Home Builders Self Insurers Fund will administer the two-hour training sessions on falls from scaffolds, ladders, and roofs.

OSHA awards grants to nonprofit organizations on a competitive basis through its Susan Harwood Training Grant Program. Grants are awarded to provide training and education programs for employers and employees on the recognition, avoidance, and prevention of safety and health hazards in their workplaces. OSHA selects the safety and health topics and holds a national competition to award grants.
