Columbia Home Builder Moves Up In National Rankings

The Mungo Companies are pleased to announce that they’ve been ranked 38th on the national 2008 Builder 100 Listing by Builder magazine. The ranking, which is based on total closings for all builders, is up from 70th in 2007.

Also this week, Professional Builder magazine ranked The Mungo Companies 91 – up from 144 -- on their list of the 2008 nation’s biggest builders based on dollar volume.

Principal Steven Mungo said, “Congratulations to our entire staff. During these tough economic times, everyone has worked harder and smarter to maintain the level of quality for which we are appreciated while keeping a sharp eye on the bottom line. We’ve not sacrificed our product to save money and the buying public recognizes that Mungo builds a quality home at a great value and has the stability to stand behind our product.”

The Mungo family has been developing communities and building new homes since 1954. Five building companies are under the corporate umbrella: Mungo Homes, Sovereign Homes, Mungo Construction, Harbor Homes – building in Charleston and Myrtle Beach, and 1st American Builders – building in the Raleigh, North Carolina area.
