National Instructor to Teach NAHB Course at Convention

The Home Builders Association of South Carolina has secured national instructor Mike Weiss to teach the NAHB University of Housing’s Diversification: Capitalizing on New Business Opportunities course on Thursday, June 23 at the state convention in Greenville. Weiss is the principle author of the Diversification course, and he as taught the subject frequently both as the NAHB designation course and as a seminar.

“There is no one more passionate about education,” said Tony Thompson, chairman of the HBASC Education Committee. “Mike’s commitment to the education of anyone in this industry is incredible.”

Weiss is currently chair of the Home Building Institute, and he was chairman of the NAHB University of Housing Education Committee last year. According to Weiss, education is a strong interest of his, and he believes education is the best tool for the builder/remodeler. He’s enjoyed a successful career as a contractor with specialty in custom home and major remodeling over the past 35 years in the Indianapolis, Indiana market. Weiss has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Miami. He’s a contractor, a building industry advocate, and a business management coach/mentor/instructor.

“The amount of time he has spent developing, writing and delivering courses would make one wonder if the man every sleeps,” said Thompson. “He is one with hands on experience who has walked the talk with great success.”
