Builders: Apply for Tax Credit on Unoccupied Homes by September 30th
In the last legislative session, the General Assembly passed a law giving builders/developers property tax relief starting in the 2009 tax year on the improvement (house) until the new house becomes occupied, or the house reaches its fifth anniversary of receiving its Certificate of Occupancy (CO).

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- More than 1.4 million Americans have already claimed the new tax credit for first-time home buyers, according to a report from the Internal Revenue Service.
Builder Confidence Rises for the Third Straight Month
Builder confidence in the market for newly built, single-family homes rose one point in August to its highest level in more than a year, according to the latest reading of the NAHB/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index (HMI), which was released on Aug. 17.
