Did somebody say they needed a gopher? Project managers are busy people, and like anyone, they can use a little help with the details. And Richard Sendler understands the need for good help and attention to detail. That’s why he volunteers his time on the state office renovation project.

Richard is an active member of the HBA of Greater Columbia and the HBA of South Carolina. He’s been spending time at the state office renovation site making sure the guys have all of the materials they need. In fact, just the other day, he was checking cabinets and making phone calls.

“He has a great reputation for speaking his mind and asking the tough questions that others may be unwilling to ask,” said Bin Wilcenski, chief operating officer at the HBA of Greater Columbia. “If you want to get to the bottom of an issue or just cut to the chase, Richard is the guy you want sitting on your side of the table.”

Richard has been a builder member for more than 20 years. He’s a member of the Land Development Code Task Force, the International Residential Code Task Force, and the HBA Disaster Relief Team. That’s just the tip of the iceberg!

"Richard Sendler is a fantastic member of the Home Builders Association,” said Wilcenski. “His involvement on various government-relations committees for the state and local HBAs over the years has helped to keep the cost of building manageable for builders, and therefore has kept housing affordable for all South Carolinians.”

The HBA of South Carolina is grateful to have a volunteer like Richard Sendler on site watching over the renovation progress. Thank you for your help, Richard!
