Home Builders’ Association of South Carolina saw an increase of 926 new members over two days during the DirectDriveTM membership drive February 21-22. The efforts of the nine participating local HBAs helped the state association reach a goal of exceeding 6,000 members.
Local associations saw positive results with the drive, not only by increasing their membership, but also in the teamwork and dedication of its members lending a helping hand. Of course, the drive wasn’t all work and no play. Associations held a kick-off celebration the night before and a wrap-up party once the drive ended. Everyone was encouraged to decorate and to have fun during the drive. Other local associations have expressed interest in conducting their own membership drive with the help of the HBA of SC. These additional drives should help the HBA of SC reach the goal of 25% annual growth, a goal set by Keith Smith, HBA of SC president and Eddie Weaver, HBA of SC Membership Committee chairman. The Oliver Group, LLC, a direct marketing and business development firm out of Washington State, and the HBA of SC assisted local associations with their drives. For more information about hosting a membership drive, call Cathy Mauldin, HBA of SC Director of Meetings and Membership Services, at 803-771-7408.
