Expanded Eligibility
The SCHB SIF can now consider additional classes of business. The key is the majority of the payroll must be in support of residential construction and there must be some on-site installation by an employee. This opens up additional builders and associate members for consideration.

Improved Pricing

• There will be no rate increase for 2008. This will be the second consecutive year with no increase. For certain class codes, you will actually see a rate reduction.
• The SCHB SIF will no longer consider premium size as a criteria for rate tier placement for accounts with prior coverage. Rate tier assignment will be based on loss ratio. This means accounts with a smaller premium can be eligible for our most competitive pricing.
• Accounts with a premium of $2000 or greater will begin to receive a premium discount in our Recoupment rate tier.
• We are introducing late notices in 2008. There will be a $25.00 late fee, however, additional time will be allowed to send in your monthly report and premium due without incurring cancellation and a reinstatement fee.

Please remember prior coverage is not required to be eligible for the SCHB SIF program. As long as you have five years experience in your field of endeavor, you may be eligible.
